How Elo works
Start at 1,200 Elo. Beating a stronger opponent earns more; losing to a weaker opponent costs more. A draw can move your rating toward your opponent’s. Both players must confirm the result.
- Complete five rated placement matches to enter the Top 25. Ratings move faster during placements, then become steadier after 30 rated matches.
- Against the same opponent each UTC day: matches 1–3 award full Elo, 4–6 award half, and later matches only update your record. The allowance resets at midnight UTC.
- If neither player answers correctly, the draw counts toward your record but does not change Elo or placement progress.
